What is Intelligent Access?

In this content, we wanted to discuss the concept of "Intelligent access".

The concept of “democratization” also means “the spread of products used by a limited group of people over time”.

For example; In the last quarter century, we have witnessed the transformation of air conditioners into a standard in homes and automobiles -the democratization-.

"Automatic sliding doors" the first examples of which were seen in the late eighties, became so widespread that we started to feel strange when there was no automatic door opening when entering a market or pharmacy in our neighborhood.

Many innovations have been added by companies that have developed technology in this field in the last ten years to the most basic "opening and closing automatically when approached" and "sliding to the side" features expected from these doors.

This is where the concept of “intelligence access” emerged;

The word "intelligent" in the dictionary is defined as "who sees the truth well and acts accordingly".

When we adapt this definition attributed to the human to the door, we think that the definition of "the door that sees the reality of the place it is in and acts accordingly" would not be wrong. So, “what could be the realities of the place where it hangs out and how can smart doors respond to this?”

Let's examine a few examples from the general to the specific;

How can “intelligence” automatic doors respond to the reality of “cycles info”?

How important is the "km counter" for cars isn't it? If "intelligent" expression is used for an automatic door, the "number of opening cycles" information should be provided to make it easier to answer questions such as "how often will it be serviced, when will the parts that need to be changed, how much the door has been worked".

How can a “intelligence” door tell it when it has a problem?

For example, through a “screen showing error codes”. This feature allows users to solve problems without the need to call authorized service in many cases. New door technologies, which are even smarter, allow authorized services to remotely connect to the door and produce solutions.

In addition to some structural features as in these two examples, doors can be made intelligence thanks to non-structural solutions developed by experienced practitioners. For example; a steel door “sound insulation performance” or "thermal insulation value" of an automatic sliding door can be increased.

As a result, recognizing and focusing on the fact that automatic sliding doors have special features other than "opening and closing" can serve social purposes for development far beyond being a commercial issue between manufacturers and users.
