Can doors have functions far beyond providing entrance and exit?

16 Mart 2022

The first impression about a place -for example, a building or a city- and the summary of that place is at the entrance. As in the relations between the "gates of Istanbul" and Istanbul, or between the "Dolmabahçe palace gate" and the palace itself.

  • If the door is impressive, so is the facility behind it.
  • If the door is secure, the one behind it also gives confidence.
  • If the door is strong, the institution behind it is also solid.
  • If the door is long-lasting, the business behind it is also long-lasting.

Well, is it possible to think the opposite of this approach?

The subject of “first impression” is of course not limited to the door. The closeness of this concept to the "importance of the first meeting moment" in psychology or the "importance of the first 30 seconds" in sales interviews will be noticed by those who are interested.

While investors, architects and engineers who are aware of this principle strive to find the right model door among many design options and develop it by associating it with the necessary functions, their expectations from door and smart entrance companies are; to be by their side with the necessary experience, competence and great passion on this path.

So how?

“Development” services

The needed door or other smart access systems may have been produced many times.

However, being able to make “project-based developments” to meet new and unique needs is a special value offered to investors, architects and customers.

This development;

  • Sometimes it can be about finding special hardware that will make the door smart.
  • Sometimes it may be to apply a special surface coating option for the business need.
  • Sometimes it's a big door size and the shipping challenges that come with it.

“Product scoping” & “point list” services

For example, in order to produce 500 fire-resistant doors in a business center, each of these doors must be detailed separately, the accessories and surface coatings that will make that door smart must be determined, and a "point list" document must be produced.

"Product scoping service" and "point lists", which are one of the important values that are needed especially in large projects -although not noticed much-, may need to be updated dozens of times during the order and application processes in order to turn them into a product that will satisfy all parties.

Conclusion

Being aware of the concept of “first impression at the door” can help to understand why architects, engineers, sales, manufacturing, installation, service and support teams working in the door industry are passionate about their work.
